About Me

I’m an educator with twelve years of experience in the classroom, and during that time I’ve had the chance to work with students at very different stages of their learning journeys. I currently teach kindergarten, where I focus on building strong foundations in literacy, math, social skills, and curiosity. Teaching at this level has shown me how important early education is in setting the stage for everything that comes after. Helping young students develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning is something I take seriously and truly enjoy.

Alongside my work in early childhood education, I also coach Mock Trial. This gives me the chance to work with older students in a completely different way, focusing on critical thinking, public speaking, teamwork, and legal reasoning. Coaching Mock Trial lets me guide students as they analyze cases, build arguments, and present themselves in a professional setting. Even though the skills are different from what I teach in kindergarten, both roles share the same goal of helping students grow, think independently, and communicate effectively.

I have a master’s degree in teacher leadership and I am working on a second one in library media specialization. I am excited about this because it lets me support students and teachers even more by helping with access to information, research skills, and literacy development. I really believe school libraries are key in fostering curiosity and lifelong learning.

Outside of school, I try to keep a good balance in life. I love reading because it helps me relax and escape the real world for a little while. Traveling is another big passion because it allows me to experience different places, cultures, and histories. One of my favorite trips is going to Disney, where I enjoy not just the fun, but also the creativity and storytelling behind everything in the parks that I loved as a kid.

I am also a big fan of UK Men’s Basketball and love following the team throughout the season. Watching sports is exciting, and it is something I enjoy sharing with friends and family. Most importantly, I value time with the people I care about. Friends and family keep me grounded and remind me why connection matters so much both in and out of the classroom.

All in all, my work and my interests reflect a love of learning, growth, and meaningful connections with others.
